DataVita, the UK's leading provider of sustainable data centre solutions, is partnering with AI tech giant CoreWeave to bring to life its new £1.5 billion investment in AI infrastructure – believed to be one of the largest technology investments made in Scotland – resulting in one of the most carbon-efficient AI deployments in the UK, located at its Lanarkshire data centre campus.
The announcement, made today alongside the US State Visit, is designed to power the next wave of AI innovation, with the selection of DataVita’s Scottish facilities marking a strategic decision to prioritise sustainability and environmental responsibility.
By choosing to deploy its next site in Scotland, CoreWeave will maximise its opportunity to access the plethora of renewable energy already available in the Scottish market. The site will be powered by renewable energy, with the move recognising Scotland not just as a prime location for technological advancement, but as the premier choice for sustainable computing.
The new infrastructure will also set a new standard for water conservation. Scotland's naturally cool climate, combined with DataVita’s state-of-the-art closed-loop cooling technology, means the data centres will consume minimal water.

This major investment will be pivotal in achieving the UK Government’s Compute Roadmap, providing AI labs, enterprises, and research institutions with the critical infrastructure needed to remain at the forefront of global innovation.
