Lanarkshire-based DataVita, Scotland’s leading datacentre and multi-cloud services provider, has today (2nd August 2019) announced its inclusion on the Scottish Government’s new Cloud Services Framework.
Through the framework, the tech firm will enable public sector organisations – including local authorities, education providers, the NHS and emergency services, and the third sector – access to a range of cloud services delivered via DataVita’s purpose-built, Uptime Institute Tier III certified datacentre, which is powered by 100% green energy.
Recognised internationally, the Uptime Institute accreditation is the IT industry’s most trusted and adopted global standard for datacentre operations and design. DataVita operates the only Uptime Institute Tier III certified constructed facility in Scotland.
The new cloud services framework supports the Scottish Government’s digital strategy and the services outlined include public and private cloud, co-location, hybrid cloud, community cloud and cloud transition services.
Through a competitive tender process, DataVita has proven to align with the framework’s key objectives including maximising efficiency, collaboration, demonstrating value for money, embedding sustainable procurement and improving access to the latest cloud services.
Supporting its place on the framework, DataVita also plans to create a dedicated public sector data hall, allowing for increased security and easier collaboration between organisations in the sector, as well as bespoke public and private cloud hosting services.
