Scotland Gets Direct Nordic Connectivity as DataVita and Altibox Carrier Announce Strategic Partnership

DataVita's Scottish data centers become the gateway to the Nordics, as the NO-UK subsea cable opens a powerful new digital corridor.

Cut Costs - Time to Outsmart Broadcom

DataVita is pleased to announce our new strategic partnership with Altibox Carrier, a leading provider of international high-speed connectivity across the Nordics and Europe, and the operator behind the NO-UK subsea cable linking Norway and the UK. Together, we are delivering high-performance, direct connectivity between our Scottish data centres and the Nordics, with services live and available today.

By integrating the NO-UK subsea cable directly into our data centre campuses, located within Scotland's first AI Growth Zone, we have established a seamless digital corridor purpose-built for hyperscalers and neo-cloud providers. Crucially, this route sidesteps the congestion of traditional southern UK pathways, giving our customers a faster, more direct connection northward.

The partnership delivers three key benefits:

  • Superior Performance: Scalable 100G and 400G services with low latency.
  • Sustainability: Leveraging the renewable energy profiles of both Norway and Scotland.
  • Resilience: A diverse, high-capacity path that strengthens regional infrastructure.

Luke Fox, Chief Commercial Officer of Altibox Carrier, said: "This partnership with DataVita strengthens the digital bridge between Scotland and the Nordics. By extending NO-UK connectivity directly into DataVita's data centers, we are enabling customers to deploy high-performance infrastructure with improved latency, resilience, and scalability across two strategically important regions."

DataVita's carrier-neutral facilities now serve as a primary gateway for Nordic-bound traffic, cementing Scotland's position as a critical node in the broader European connectivity landscape.

Our Managing Director, Danny Quinn, said: "Scotland is a natural hub between North America and Europe. Partnering with Altibox Carrier enhances our reach and provides the infrastructure modern digital workloads demand."

At the heart of this collaboration lies a mutual dedication to sustainability and pushing the boundaries of infrastructure innovation. Norway's established renewable energy profile, alongside Scotland's rapidly growing green energy capacity, makes the North Sea corridor an increasingly attractive proposition for environmentally responsible digital operations, something that sits firmly at the core of what we do at DataVita.

Capacity and wavelength options are available immediately, with configurations designed to meet the demands of hyperscale, AI, cloud, and enterprise workloads.

From research and innovation through to hyperscale deployments, our Lanarkshire AI Growth Zone data centres are purpose-built for global reach. To learn more about the infrastructure and connectivity behind Scotland's first AI Growth Zone, visit our Lanarkshire AI Growth Zone data centres.
